Landmark collaboration agreement signed with the University of Porto, Portugal

The University of Porto in Portugal and UNAM signed an agreement that paves the way for academic collaboration across many academic disciplines. The University of Porto was represented by its Vice President Prof Maria de Fátima Marinho.

The agreement will enable both institutions to identify specific areas of collaboration and to design academic projects that stand to increase the scientific and cultural partnerships between Namibia and Portugal.

"Our key focus for this collaboration is on biodiversity with the Agriculture and Wildlife Management departments within the University of Namibia. We also aim to support the Portuguese and History departments within UNAM. Other areas include engineering, medicine, dentistry, nutrition, maritime sciences, and management” remarked Prof Marinho.

Prof Hangula thanked the visiting delegation and added that there is truly a meeting of minds on many of the aspects raised. The University of Porto invited UNAM for a return visit.
