The Honorary Consulate of Namibia in Porto’s 1st Anniversary, was celebrated on July 5, last Tuesday.

Mr. Hortênsio Simaria da Silva – Honorary Consul of the Republic of Namibia in Porto, had the honour of receiving the Ambassador of Namibia in Portugal, accompanied by a delegation of Namibian diplomatic officers and stakeholders, members of Porto’s diplomatic corps, as well as other guests.

This cultural event presented the opportunity for some of Namibia’s gastronomic delicacies to be tasted and a group of craftspeople displayed their products, showing Porto and North of Portugal the countries’ finest traditional arts and culture.

During her welcoming speech, Hon. Mrs. Frieda Ithete – Ambassador of Namibia in Portugal, declared her enthusiasm for the Seminar "Business Opportunities in Namibia”, co-organized by the Consulate and AEP. The seminar took place on July 6, 2016. She also showed her personal commitment to strengthen the relations between Porto and North of Portugal and the Republic of Namibia, with the support of the Honorary Consulate of the Republic of Namibia in Porto.
